We chatted with Diego Cavallero, the co-owner of Cavallero F.lli Snc together with his brother Marco. They are long-standing clients with whom we are working in developing a new top-end line of doors and windows.

The history of Cavallero Serramenti (Melazzo – Alessandria) is founded on tradition. Established in 1968 as a small artisanal enterprise, it grows and evolves through the years, keeping those characteristics typical of a small family-run joinery shop while adopting modern and innovative production technologies.

“We make wood and wood-aluminum doors and windows in both traditional and modern styles” explains Diego Cavallero, co-owner of the company together with his brother Marco.

“Over the years” he adds, “we have tried to pick up and modernise old styles. The ‘Epoca’ line, in fact, mirrors the lines and aesthetics of the old farmhouses and rural homes of our hills, while the ‘Opera’ line stems from the style of the buildings of the historical town center, and are therefore ideal for revamping historically valid and ancient buildings.

In other words, we have picked out elements from the old building processes and from the traditional aesthetics and we have modernised them using new technologies (high-performance double glazing panes, hardware and modern locks, etc.)”.

From traditional to contemporary

“Even in our market – Piedmont and part of Liguria – in addition to the traditional style we see an ingrained preference for minimalism: simplification of shapes, essential profiles, generous glass surfaces.

To meet these demands, we have developed other types of doors and windows, such as those of the “Area” line, designed to bring more light indoors.

Except for the lower rail, the wood-alu EVO sashes and frames are invisible from the outside. The result is an ‘all-glass’ door or window that fully delivers the essential nature of modern architectural styles”.

A partnership based on innovation

We have been TWT clients for the last 35 years or so. We began in 1987 with Zuani. Over time we developed an excellent business relationship with some of the staff members and especially with Filippo Pellitteri.

Whenever he has a new project, he presents it to us so we can discuss it together and, when possible, we try to contribute too, to the extent that we are able.

I believe that this is the aspect I appreciate the most in TWT, namely their continuous research for new products and their commitment to constant innovation and to creating new projects. It is stimulating for everyone.

In TWT they are also always available for customising the products or systems based on the needs expressed by the client.

“It is a‘philosophy’we believe in too and this is yet another reason why such a firm relationship has developed between the two companies.

Over the years, in fact, we have tried to distinguish ourselves with special focus on customisation, via innovation and the expansion of our range of products, so as to meet all of the requests of our clients, including non-standard solutions”.

Top-end wood and wood-alu doors and windows

“Currently we are working with TWT to create a new 90-92 mm window. In our area, there is no longer the demand for 68 mm frames, also because they don’t allow to achieve the thermal transmittance performance requested by the norms.

We are already producing the 80 mm frames, so we have decided to aim at a top-end window featuring significant thickness, in both all-wood and wood-alu versions. We always offer both kinds because in many high-end projects this mixture is in greater demand.

The base project is Esperia Innova, although TWT is customizing the system based on several of our requests. This investment is in addition to the purchase of a new Biesse machining center. Large investments that are essential for improving the quality level of our offering”.
